Quarantine if you think you've been exposed

People in quarantine should stay home, separate themselves from others, monitor their health, and follow directions from their state or local health department.

Wear a face mask

There are some instances when using a face mask to protect others from being exposed to your germs is probably best. for example, if you’re going to the doctor to get evaluated and can’t stop coughing in the office. Many medical facilities provide disposable masks for this very reason; some even mandate their use.

Use the mask to cover your mouth and nose making sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask. Try to avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands. If the mask gets damp, replace it. Do not reuse disposable masks.

When removing the mask, take it off from the back without touching the front. Used masks should be discarded immediately in a closed bin. After taking off the mask, disinfect your hands once again.

Clean & Disinfect

Many infectious microbes can live on surfaces anywhere from a few minutes to several months at a time, depending on the environment and pathogen (disease-producing microorganism). This means that some viruses and bacteria may be able to persist on surfaces that you touch regularly, such as your computer keyboard, light switch, or a doorknob.

Hand-to-face and hand-to-mouth transmission are among the most common ways that infectious diseases are spread. To help reduce this type of spread, routine handwashing is recommended to limit pathogen exposure to your mouth, eyes, or nose.

How Covid-19 Spread
Emergency symptoms

Trouble Breathing

Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

Inability to wake or stay awake

Pale skin, blue-colored nails, greyish lips

Remember the more quickly you will act, the better it would be for your speedy recovery

What to Do If You Have Symptoms

Try to stay away from others including your family and get quarantined at home alone in a room. Get a test as soon as possible after your symptoms start (don’t delay). If tested positive separate yourself from others. Contact your healthcare provider right away. Inform each and everyone whom you have met in the last 7days to get tested themselves as COVID-19 is a very contagious disease. Monitor your symptoms if symptoms are severe and concerning to you, like Trouble Breathing, Persistent pain or pressure in the chest, etc. seek medical emergency care immediately. Call ahead before visiting your doctor. Many medical visits for routine care are being postponed or done by phone or telemedicine. Wear a well-fitting mask while visiting the doctor. Cover your coughs and sneezes. Throw away used tissues in a lined trash can. Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Clean your hands often. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Wash eating utensils after using them. Take steps to improve ventilation at home. Try to improve airflow at home to help to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 to other people in your household. Clear out COVID-19 virus particles in the air by opening windows, using air filters, and turning on fans in your home.

Animal Contact

People with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 should avoid contact with animals, including pets, livestock, and wildlife. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses. Some coronaviruses cause cold-like illnesses in people, while others cause illness in certain types of animals, such as cattle, camels, and bats. Some coronaviruses, such as canine and feline coronaviruses, infect only animals and do not infect people. Some coronaviruses that infect animals can be spread to people and then spread between people, but this is rare. This is what happened with SARS-CoV-2, which likely originated in bats.

Personal Contact

Personal contact with COVID-19 should be avoided as COVID can be spread through droplets. Keeping 6 feet distance is compulsory to avoid getting infected. This includes living with, visiting, or sharing a closed space with the infected person.

Air Transmission

Transmission of COVID-19 is not Airborne but through droplet transmission. Droplets are generated when the symptomatic person coughs, sneezes talks, or exhales. Some of these droplets are too heavy to remain in the air and they rather fall on the floor or surfaces which further gets leads to the spread of the disease. To avoid these circumstances proper ventilation should be maintained. Improving ventilation (airflow) can help prevent virus particles from accumulating in the air in your home

Contained Object

The deposition of expelled virus particles onto surfaces is affected by airflow and ventilation. The interaction with environmental factors causes damage to virus particles while airborne and on fomites. The time between when a surface becomes contaminated and when a person touches the surface. The efficiency of transference of virus particles from fomite surfaces to hands and from hands to mucous membranes on the face. Cleaning and disinfection can reduce the risk of fomite transmission.

Protect yourself & others

If you are symptomatic or have been tested positive for COVID-19 following steps can help you to take proper action at the proper time

Preparations include physical or social distancing, quarantining, and ventilation of indoor spaces, covering coughs and sneezes, hand washing, and keeping unwashed hands away from the face. The use of a face mask is necessary. Testing is most important for the early diagnosis of the disease. Getting proper medication and clinical care is another concern for better treatment.

Be Aware

Being aware of the disease is very important because misconceptions & myths can lead to hazardous situations. Being aware of the proper tests required for confirmation of the disease is mandatory for all. RT-PCR & antigen tests are the most common tests done for COVID-19.

Acting according to the situation is another important concern as one should know what to do? And what not to do? Getting clinical help at the proper time is very important in COVID-19, if not it can lead to problematic conditions, and getting tested if symptomatic is important to stop the spread of the disease.

Get One Step Ahead Of Disease

COVID directly attacks our immune system and weakens it. We can be a step ahead of the disease by making our immune systems strong. There are many home remedies for this purpose. Getting vaccinated, using masks, avoiding public gatherings, covering mouth while sneezing or coughing, washing hands frequently, checking temperature, maintaining social distancing, and getting tested if symptomatic. These are some important steps that keep us ahead of COVID-19 and also avoid the spread of the disease.
